The following letter-form was brought about as a means of teaching my children the Word of God through the mail. And of course, quite naturally so, that’s the reason I begin these letters with "Dear Children" and end them with "Love Dad". So for the rest of you who participate in these weekly messages, please keep their original intended purpose in mind.

Dear Children,

Chick tracts have always been a part of our family. And of course the reason for it is that Jack Chick faithfully incorporates God’s uncompromising Truth in his tracts. In fact, the following excerpt from “www.chickcomics.com” does a pretty good job, in one simple paragraph, of summarizing what Jack Chick and his gospel tracts are really all about:

“Whether you love him or hate him, you gotta respect Chick for sticking to his guns. Since 1961 (half a century!), he's cranked out tract after tract to help sinners "see the light." He's written over 225 different tracts, with more than 800,000,000 distributed worldwide (in over 100 different languages)! His influence is so feared that entire nations have passed special laws banning his comics. Even as Political Correctness reigns supreme, Chick seems unafraid to take on the sacred cows. He steadfastly exposes The Conspiracy of Catholics, Masons, Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses, New Agers, Rock & Rollers, and any other group the devil might use to damn your soul. Chick also offends Jews and Muslims with previews of their fiery futures in hell (but only because he wants to save them). The more taboo a topic, the more likely you'll see it covered in a Chick tract!”

Now it was only a few weeks ago that I received a Chick Publications newsletter promoting David W. Daniels’ newest book “Should A Christian Be A Mason?” And as the newsletter went on to say, the specific purpose of the book is to help the reader find out what Masonry actually believes in (what is taught to its leaders and higher-degree Masons), and what the Holy Bible has to say about those same beliefs.

Well, the book sounded pretty good to me! In fact the newsletter even included a link to an earlier interview David W. Daniels did on “The Living Word Radio” (WBLW 88.1 FM) that took place on “The Rise And Shine Time” (7:00-9:00 AM show) hosted by Dominic Garrisi and Dustin Dilworth. And as the Good Lord would have it, I turned on and tuned in to what had been said… and this is how the interview started (http://www.wblwradio.com/index.php?page=audio&file=DWDaniels061411):

“We have a very special guest on the radio with us today. He’s not a complete stranger to WBLW and The Living Word FM. Ah, David W. Daniels from Chick Publications. He’s the author of several books on the King James Bible and other topics as well. And, ah, he’s also a research consultant with Chick Publications too. Exactly. And he just wrote, he recently wrote a new book called ‘Should A Christian Be A Mason?’”

Now, with that introduction in mind, it shouldn’t be too hard to see David W. Daniels as a true representative (an ambassador) for Chick Publications. Not only does Chick publish his books, but Chick also employs him as research consultant. David W. Daniels is very notable and visible part of Chick Publications. And that’s why the title of today’s message is “Chick Tracts And David W. Daniels: Unequally Yoked!”

But moving right along, it was shortly after the radio hosts’ introduction that David W. Daniels had the following to say about “Christian” Masons:

“According to figures about a decade old, around 1.2 million or so Southern Baptist are or were Free Masons. That’s not even counting the leadership, because they said they wouldn’t count the leadership. That’s a lot of people claiming to be Christians who also claim an open fellowship in Masonic Lodges. So we need to know for sure: is this a help or is this a hindrance to my Christian life? Will this help me or hinder me in my Christian walk? Is this a good use of my time as a Christian? We all have this same 168 hours of the week. How we use that time determines our rewards in Heaven. So I think it’s vital to answer that question. It’s something that can use up a great deal of a Christian’s time, energy, memorizing skills and resources. Should a Christian be a Mason?”

So, what did you think about that? Well, I don’t know about you but I got just a little confused as to exactly where David W. Daniels was headed when he talked about those “Masons who claimed to be Christians”. I mean it sound like he was going to focus in on a group of people – “Masons” – who claimed to be something – “Christian” – that they never really were. But then he bore down on his belief that “Christian” Masons would only lose some of their rewards in Heaven… and not their everlasting souls in the burning flames of Hell.

I was confused! And what made matters even worse was from that point on David W. Daniels did a very nice job of proving that all those involved in the Masonic “religion” actually worship the fallen angel Lucifer.

Now with these “Christian Masons who worship Lucifer” in mind, the following question was asked by the radio host in the final minutes of the interview:

“When a Christian dies, goes to Heaven, and stands before God and is judged for what they did with their lives – I know you’re not God – but, based on your research and your walk with God, how do you think that God would feel about a Christian who invests his life into Masonry?”

So, how will God judge a Christian who becomes a Mason? That was the question… and this was David W. Daniels answer:

“Well, I Corinthians 3 tells us exactly what’s going to happen. In I Corinthians 3 we know that whether we have wood, hay, stubble, gold, silver, precious stones, we’ll be weighed. How did we deal with our Christian walk? Whether we’re saved is not an issue for a Christian’s judgment, but what we did will make a big difference in our rewards. It’ll make a big difference in how the Lord (is put us) in eternity. We have an opportunity as Christians, as Believers in our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, to spread and make as many people to know about the Lord Jesus as possible, and to be partially responsible and under God for bringing people to Christ. I’m so excited that 39 years ago, in a few days, a man came by, he handed me a little Chick tract called “This Was Your Life” and had the guts to ask me if I would pray the prayer at the end. Even though I became a Mormon, and went into the occult, I was brought back in peace with the Lord Jesus Christ as a repentant Believer. The Lord got me! And that man God used, he will not lose his reward. And every one of us has had the opportunity to spend our time. How do we lead our kids? Do you want your kids to drift away for 40 years only then to eventually come back, and to have wasted 40 years of their life, or do you want them to be raised up in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. If you spend your time memorizing Bible, not Masonic ritual. If you spend your time learning the Lord Jesus Christ, not learning Masonic beliefs about God that sound an awful lot more like religious science than about Christianity. “

Wow, what a bust! That was David W. Daniels’ ending… and what an ending it was! In no uncertain terms, David W. Daniels not only preached, but likewise evangelized, to all those listening in on “The Living Word Radio” (WBLW), that Christians can live their lives as a Mason (worshiping Satan) and still make God’s Heaven their everlasting home!

I was having a very hard time believing what I had actually heard from this well-known and well-respected associate of the Jack T. Chick Publishing Company. It was unbelievable!!! So in order to clear up this doubt and confusion that was running through my head, I sent David W. Daniels the following short but concise question by email:

     I listened to your radio interview with WBLW and was wondering if you used I Cor. 3:9-15 in your book to describe what happens to a Christian Mason after death? In your interview you did say the Bible teaches that a Christian Mason will lose some of their rewards but not their salvation. Right?

Well, that was my question… and the following was David W. Daniels’ reply:

Dear Bruce:
     Though 1 Corinthians 3, which I mentioned in the interview, is not listed in the book, nonetheless I do say this:
     I want you to understand what is at stake, and my prayer is that you make the right decision, one that you can defend before Almighty God on Judgment Day.
     God bless you as you make the right choice.
     I do not believe that losing rewards equates with losing salvation. Christians face the judgment seat of Christ; but non-Christians face the great white throne judgment.
     I sincerely hope that Christians will stop wasting their time and live for Him. I do believe they waste far too much time and burn up their rewards by things that pull them from serving Christ, like Masonry.
     The biggest thing for them to fear is that they have deceived themselves into thinking they are Christians, when they are not saved at all. I handle that as well in the conclusion to the book.
     I pray for 1) repentant Christians; 2) unsaved to become saved; and 3) Christians not to be deceived into joining Masonry in any way.
     I hope this is clear.

Now was that a bust or what? I mean try to hit the moving target in that one! The only way that any sense can be made of David W. Daniels’ answer to my simple and straightforward question – “In your interview you did say the Bible teaches that a Christian Mason will lose some of their rewards but not their salvation. Right?” – is through the assumption that David W. Daniels believes in and promotes the damnable doctrine of “once saved always saved”. In other words, a real Christian can be a real Mason!

And with that in mind, let us now take a look at what Jack T. Chick has to say on this subject of “Christian” Masons, with the first being an excerpt from the Chick Publications’ March/April 2003 “Battle Cry” (http://www.chick.com/bc/2003/whatif.asp):

“Chick Publications also offers several paperback books on the satanic nature of Masonry… These books contain hundreds of pages of documentation proving that no Bible believer can serve a "Worshipful Master" in a Masonry lodge and obey Jesus Christ as Lord of his life.”

Jack T. Chick does not believe “a Mason can be Christian”! Nor does he believe “a Christian can be a Mason”! But just in case there’s any doubt in this matter, here are a few frames from four (4) of his tracts that deal with the satanic nature of Masonry:

So did you get the picture? Jack T. Chick answered David W. Daniels question – “Can a Christian Be a Mason?” – with an indisputable “HELL NO!” And he used the following Scriptures in the preceding tract frame to say it:

#1.) The Masonic teachings are pagan and satanic… their secret blood oaths are an abomination to God:

“Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths: But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne: Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King. Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black. But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.” (Matthew 5:33-37 KJV)

#2.) The initiate rejects “The Light” (Christ Jesus) and openly receives Masonry’s “angel of light” (Lucifer) in the very first oath he takes:

“Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” (John 8:12 KJV)

#3.) The initiate’s rejection of “The Light” (Christ Jesus), in favor of Masonry’s “angel of light” (Lucifer), will earn him the everlasting rejection of Christ:

“Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny (G720) me before men, him will I also deny (G720) before my Father which is in heaven.” (Matthew 10:32-33 KJV)

 

Reject/Deny (G720) [ar-neh'-om-ahee] - Perhaps from G1 (as a negative particle) and the middle of G4483; to contradict, that is, disavow, reject, abnegate: - deny, refuse. (Strong’s Hebrew And Greek Dictionary)

#4) When the initiate receives Masonry’s “angel of light” (Lucifer), he not only becomes a follower of Baphomet (the horned goat god of Masonry), but a goat too:

“And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left… Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:” (Matthew 25:32-33, 41 KJV)

Now with all of that in mind, let’s get back to the title of this message for today: “Chick Tracts And David W. Daniels: Unequally Yoked!” I mean, with all the proof that’s been set before you, do you really think it’s a good thing for David W. Daniels to be an ambassador and research specialist for Chick Publications? After all, this is what God’s Word has to say about it:

“Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?” (2 Corinthians 6:14-15 KJV)

Turn from your wicked ways, David W. Daniels… and “keep on keeping the faith in Jesus!!!”
