The following letter-form was brought about as a means of teaching my children the Word of God through the mail. And of course, quite naturally so, that’s the reason I begin these letters with "Dear Children" and end them with "Love Dad". So for the rest of you who participate in these weekly messages, please keep their original intended purpose in mind.
Dear Children,
Well praise God and thank you Jesus! The Almighty has blessed us with yet another sermonet…and even though we haven’t finished the one we’ve already started. You see it’s today’s message that will kinda like pave the way for what’s about to come. I mean part II of the up-coming message – “My Natural Wife Was Annie…But My Spiritual Wife Is Sandy!” – is gonna be one more tough message for most folks to digest. I dare say it’ll even knock the socks off a few stiff-necked legalistic Christians. In fact I guarantee that what God is giving us to write will “look a lot like Jesus” turning over the tables in the temple (Matthew 21:12).
But anyway, the title of this week’s sermonet is “Christians Who Make God A Liar!” And as hard as that might be for most Christians to believe, the following Bible Text proves that it can be done:
“He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.” (1 John 5:10 KJV)
So now do you believe that Christians can make God a liar? Well, probably not! In fact this one’s such a tough subject to deal with that the Lord has given me the following very simple real-life story in order to help you relate.
Because you see it was back in May of 2002 that I became “homeless for Jesus”, after having first lost my apartment and everything in it…which even included my God-given telephone number (915-751-6789). And even though all the stuff in my apartment was “cherished possessions”, it seems as though the loss of my number hurt the most. I mean my God-given phone number had been a part of the FMHCCI ministry since January of 1997, and was likewise included on our ministry cards, stationary, and Website. But besides all that, this particular phone number was special in that it symbolized my walk with the Lord – a straight progression of 6-7-8-9. It was a very special number to say the least! (See Pastor Michael Duseau: His Harley Or The Cross? (3/17/02) for more details on the numbers.)
However, in my distress over having lost that very special number, my Heavenly Father assured me that I would get it back. That was in 2002. Then two years later (2004), still in a “homeless” condition I might add, I was once again encouraged by the Almighty to first confess that the “6789” phone number was mine and then give it a call. Well, what I found after dialing the number was anything but encouraging. I mean “my” phone number belonged to somebody else!
Now in the “natural”, God’s promise didn’t look any too promising. In fact it wasn’t too long after that I became a “prisoner for Christ” in the Horry County Detention Center (See Jesus Was An Outlaw…And So Am I! (9/19/04)). I mean go figure; people don’t get personal phones in jail…it just doesn’t happen! However, it was some six months later, after my release from jail, that the Lord informed me I had passed His “test” and the FMHCCI ministry would start to grow. Then, just as He had promised, it was on the 19th of November 2004, that Brother Alan Richardson answered his calling with the FMHCCI by moving to El Paso, Texas. It wasn’t too long after that we printed up a batch of FMHCCI ministry cards, and, as directed by the Almighty, we printed them up “in faith” with our promised 915-751-6789 telephone number. Glory!
So along with Brother Alan’s move to El Paso came an apartment that I could call “home”. Then on the 22nd of February 2005, God’s promised “promise” of the phone number kinda sorta became reality. Because you see as Brother Alan was transferring an existing phone service into his name, the Lord had me to ask him to ask the phone company for the 751-6789 number…and the amazing response was “It looks as though it’s available.”
And just what do you think I meant when I said “God’s promised promise ‘kinda sorta’ became reality”? Well you see Brother Alan placed his order for the phone transfer on a Tuesday morning, then that same afternoon he boarded a Greyhound Bus for Houston, Texas. His intended destination was the Houston Benny Hinn Crusade (see Benny Hinn And The Pope! (2/20/00) ), and of course our daily phone communication was an important part of that mission. However, the very next morning there was a glitch in the phone transfer, and our phone service was no more! I mean our phone service got totally disconnected!
Now you’ll just have to believe me when I say that there was a lot going on at the time, and the one thing that we didn’t need to be without was phone service. So after a day without a phone I sought the Lord for His direction, and what the Father told me was “The phone will be connected on Friday.”
So Friday morning came without a phone, and Friday night ended without a phone…and I got very, very concerned!!! I mean when it comes to this thing about walking in the calling of prophet, there is a very high risk associated with speaking “what thus saith the Lord” and it not coming to past (completion). In fact, to tell you the truth, I was about ready to throw in the prophet’s towel by handing in my prophet’s resignation…but then the Lord told me “Everything’s going to be all right.”
Well, to make a long story short, it was Monday the 28th before our phone service got reconnected, but it was reconnected with our new number – God’s promised number (915-751-6789). Glory!!! And then it was only shortly thereafter that I was able to call Brother Alan and begin unraveling the mystery of “how and why” God had become a “liar”.
But before we go there, let’s first of all take a look at what Webster has to say about what it takes (the criteria) for someone to be classified a “liar”:
Liar:
1.) one who makes an untrue statement with intent to deceive
2.) one who creates a false or misleading impression
Now, as it applies to our God-given Text of I John 5:10 – “he that believeth not God hath made him a liar” – I think it should only stand to reason that Webster’s #1 definition of “liar” can not possibly apply to God! I mean there is absolutely “no way” that the Almighty could utter an untrue statement in order to deceive anyone; God is all Truth! And besides that, the Scripture is pretty plain in that “the reason” God becomes a liar is because of somebody else; “he that believeth not God hath made him a liar”.
So, Webster’s first definition of liar can not apply to God! However, it is very possible for definition #2 to apply if we as Christians do not “believe” the Father by just doing what He tells us!
And after having said all that we can now get back to Brother Alan and the phone. Because you see the way it all happened was that Friday morning the Lord put it on his heart to make a call to SBC (Southwestern Bell Company) and straighten out the transfer problem. I mean it was a very simple thing to do, and it would have only taken a few minutes of his time to make it all happen, but it never happened because Brother Alan didn’t make it happen! In other words there were other things that got in the way of him doing what God wanted him to do. And as a result of his actions (or lack of), SBC didn’t get called on Friday, and the phone didn’t get connected on Friday…and God Almighty became a liar!
Now looking back at the sequence of events that led up to this very compromising situation, we find the following Word from God that was spoken to Brother Alan, through Sister Cyndie, almost one month earlier:
****************************************
Prophetic Word for Alan on 2/4/(05)
Alan, God loves you and He cherishes your heart for what you are. He does not ask anything of you but just to receive His love as He pours it out to you, and I pray that what He has already planed for your life will start happening soon. I pray that He will increase you faith to trust in Him even to a level in which you will not able to comprehend. Things will happen very soon in your life to test your faith. It will be a tough road to walk down but I pray that the LORD'S hand will be upon you to keep you from falling. Alan, It is very important that you remember this letter that I am writing to you today. Please print it out and look back at it when you are going through your trial. Remember to look to Jesus when things are happening and remember that the LORD have already give you a warning ahead of time through me. He is going to prepare you for a higher calling and it's about to start soon.
"And the Lord said, 'Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you [desired to have], that he may sift you as wheat. "But I prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me [been converted], strengthen your brethren." - Luke 22:31,32
****************************************
That was a portion of God’s Word to Brother Alan through Sister Cyndie, and it was shortly after having read it that I sincerely sought the Lord concerning His intended meaning of it. Because you see when I read the part where “Jesus warned Simon (Peter) about failing God” I immediately thought about what Peter suffered shortly thereafter…that is after Peter denied Jesus three times before the rooster crowed. I mean Peter had boldly declared that he would willingly die for his Master, but when the time came for him to “prove it” he failed miserably. And it was because of Peter’s failure to willingly die for Christ that the resulting “guilt and condemnation” almost caused him to throw in the towel and walked away from his calling. In other words Peter’s “faith in Jesus” almost failed (died) when he failed God by denying Christ.
So, not wanting to see Brother Alan go through a similar situation, I prayed more earnestly as to whether it was an absolute – was it going to happen regardless? And, that’s right about the time the Father gave me the following Scripture as His reply to my concern:
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14 KJV)
Well that’s what the Father gave me, and it was likewise the first Word in His chosen Scripture – the “IF” – that let me know Brother Alan had a choice in the matter. In other words Brother Alan did not have to become another Peter by denying Christ. However, the only way he was going to get around it – the “IF” – was by “turning from his wicked ways” and seeking God for every step of his daily walk; by hearing God and obeying God in all things:
“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.” (Proverbs 3:5-8 KJV)
So the question is “Did Brother Alan actually believeth (believe) God concerning his need to make a call to the phone company on Friday?” Well maybe it’s time to do a little digging into the meaning of “believeth”:
“He that believeth (G4100) on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth (G4100) not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth (G4100) not the record that God gave of his Son.” (1 John 5:10 KJV)
Believeth (G4100) [pisteuo - pist-yoo'-o] - From pistis (G4102); to have faith (in, upon, or with respect to, a person or thing), that is, credit; by implication to entrust (especially one’s spiritual well being to Christ): - believe (-r), commit (to trust), put in trust with.
You see when someone/anyone “believeth” in Jesus as their “Lord and Saviour” (Christ), they have in effect put their life in His hands by totally submitting to Him in all their ways. The Believer that “believeth” actually seeks God’s Will for every step of their walk (Proverbs 3:6). I mean the Believer that “believeth” doesn’t dare move until God says “Move!…but when God says “Move!” then that Believer “moveth”!
So going back to our real-life story with Brother Alan, the problem that he had as a Believer, that likewise resulted in him making God a “liar”, was in the fact that he was not seriously seeking God about how to resolve the phone problem. In other words “if” Brother Alan would have been seeking God in “all things” he would have known that the thoughts he had of calling the phone company were from God…and he would not have let anything stop him from doing it. But, seeing how he didn’t “believeth” God, “he that believeth not God hath made him a liar”.
Now taking this “believing” thing just a little bit further, the interesting thing about the word “believeth” is that it comes from (is a derivative of) the word “faith”. In other words the Believer is only able to “believeth” because of their “faith”. I mean it is absolutely impossible for a Christian to “believeth” until they first have “faith” in “Jesus Christ and Him crucified”. So just what is “faith”, you might ask?
Faith (G4102) [pistis - pis'-tis] - From G3982; persuasion, that is, credence; moral conviction (of religious truth, or the truthfulness of God or a religious teacher), especially reliance upon Christ for salvation; abstractly constancy in such profession; by extension the system of religious (Gospel) truth itself: - assurance, belief, believe, faith, fidelity. In general it implies such a knowledge of, assent to, and confidence in certain divine truths, especially those of the gospel, as produces good works. Sometimes, however, simply a knowledge and assent to religious truths without good works and, therefore, false faith.
Did you get that? “Faith” is nothing less than totally “trusting-in Jesus with your life” by completely “selling-out to His gospel that gives life”. And just what is this “gospel of Jesus Christ that gives life” that the Christian must not only have “a knowledge of” (a thought/idea in the mind), but also “assent to” (agree with the thought/idea in the mind), and have “confidence in” (trust in the thought/idea with their life)?
Gospel (G2908) - The word gospel is derived from the Anglo-Saxon word which meant “the story concerning God.” In the New Testament the Greek word euaggelion, means “good news.” It proclaims tidings of deliverance. The word sometimes stands for the record of the life of our Lord (Mark 1:1), embracing all His teachings, as in Acts 20:24. But the word “gospel” now has a peculiar use, and describes primarily the message which Christianity announces. “Good news” is its significance. It means a gift from God. It is the proclamation of the forgiveness of sins and sonship with God restored through Christ. It means remission of sins and reconciliation with God. The gospel is not only a message of salvation, but also the instrument through which the Holy Spirit works (Romans 1:16). The gospel differs from the law in being known entirely from revelation. (International Standard Bible Encyclopedia)
So now do you have this “faith gospel” thing down pat? Have you got it all straight in your mind how “faith” through the “gospel” works? Well probably not, so what do you say we take a look at THE Scripture on “faith gospel”:
“Now faith (G4102) is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report. Through faith (G4102) we understand that the worlds were framed by the word (rhema) of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.” (Hebrews 11:1-3 KJV)
You see having “faith” in the “gospel” is having “a knowledge of, assent to, and confidence in” the all powerful “rhema Word (command) of God” that not only created everything from nothing (God spoke it into existence), but that can likewise transform a “sinner” into a “saint” (see You’ve Asked A Hard Thing Lord! (12/12/04) for more on the rhema Word):
“Whosoever believeth (G4100) that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world [ungodliness and unrighteousness of men]: and this is the victory that overcometh the world [ungodliness and unrighteousness of men], even our faith (G4102).” (1 John 5:1-4 KJV)
So the “gospel” is God’s “real-time Word “ to the Believer, that, “if” obeyed, will make the “believing” Believer an overcomer to their sinful flesh and a new creature in Christ Jesus:
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new…For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” (2 Corinthians 5:17; 21 KJV)
Now after that brief but in-depth discussion on “having faith and believing”, let’s get back to the little incident in which Brother Alan made God a liar. Because you see even though Brother Alan has “faith in God”, he let the “ungodliness and unrighteousness of men” (the world) keep him from obeying (believing) God’s command to get the phone turned on. And even though Brother Alan has since seen his error of “unbelief” and repented, the consequences of his actions (or lack thereof) are still very much a reality:
“He that believeth (G4100) on the Son of God hath the witness (G3141) in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.” (1 John 5:10 KJV)
Because you see the “witness” of God in the Believer only comes about as the Believer “believeth” God’s command and obeys it. And seeing how Brother Alan made God a liar by not receiving this “witness” (and all because he failed to believe God and get the phone turned back on), I guess we ought to just bog it on down and find out exactly what this “witness” thing is all about:
Witness (G3140) [martureo - mar-too-reh'-o] - From G3144; to be a witness, that is, testify (literally or figuratively)
Witness (G3141) [martria - mar-too-ree'-ah] - >From G3144; evidence given (judicially or generally): - record, report, testimony, witness.
Witness (G3144) [martus - mar'-toos] - Of uncertain affinity; a witness (literally [judicially] or figuratively [generally]); by analogy a “martyr”.
Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness (G3140), because the Spirit is truth. For there are three that bear record (G3140) in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness (G3140) in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one. If we receive the witness (G3141) of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness (G3141) of God which he hath testified of his Son. He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness (G3141) in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar…” (1 John 5:5-10 KJV)
So you see the “witness” that the Believer receives, as he/she “believeth” God by obeying His each and every command (the gospel), is the Holy Spirit – the Spirit of Truth:
“In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel (G2908) of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed (G4100), ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.” (Ephesians 1:12-14 KJV)
Now a real good definition of the word “gospel” is the “good news (the Word of God) that brings reward”. Because you see it’s God’s rhema Word, to all those who’re willing to believe it by obeying it, that will transform the Believer into a new person in Christ. The “reward” that God’s “good news” brings about is what’s commonly called “salvation” – the process of being saved from sinful self:
“And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.” (Ephesians 2:1-3 KJV)
So what we’ve just read in the preceding Scripture is what actually takes place in the Believer who “believeth” God’s gospel (rhema Word) by obeying it. And of course it’s only through this process of being “sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise” that the “believing” Believer receives God’s “witness” in them…that likewise proves God’s promised changes have taken place in them through His Son Jesus Christ:
“For God is my witness (G3144), whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel (G2098) of his Son…” (Romans 1:9 KJV)
“He that believeth (G4100) on the Son of God hath the witness (G3141) in himself…” (1 John 5:10 KJV)
However, what do you suppose happens when a Believer doesn’t “believeth” God enough to walk in obedience to His Word? Well the very sad truth of “unbelieving” Believers is that they make God a liar through their continued lifestyle of disobedience to God by “fulfilling the desires of their sinful flesh and mind”. And you see it’s because of these “unbelieving” Believers sinful lifestyle that God is made a liar and the Son of God is mocked:
“…he that believeth (G4100) not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth (G4100) not the record (G3141) [witness] that God gave of his Son.” (1 John 5:10 KJV)
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth (G4100) in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth (G4100) on him is not condemned: but he that believeth (G4100) not is condemned already, because he hath not believed (G4100) in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.” (John 3:16-21 KJV)
Now after having said all of that let’s get back to the real-life example of Brother Alan making God a liar. Because as serious as this offense might be, Brother Alan has since seen his error, admitted to his error, and likewise asked the Father for forgiveness. Praise God for a “history lesson” not wasted! This is good!!!
However, on the flip side of the coin we have yet another example of someone “making God a liar”…but the outcome of this one’s not quite so positive. Because you see my Brother in Christ, Yonnie the Messianic Jew, has erred in an even greater way than Brother Alan…but yet he refuses to admit his sin.
In fact going back in time, I believe it was in our sermonet Jesus Was An Outlaw…And So Am I! (4/3/05) that we introduced Yonnie for the first time through our real-life adventure with the police. You see it was back at the beginning of 2004 that the Lord put us together for His divine purpose: I was to learn from Yonnie, and Yonnie was to learn from me. And even though I was greatly impressed with Yonnie’s ability to “hear God and obey God”, it wasn’t long after that I started seeing situations in his life where it just wasn’t so. In other words, there were some things in which he was willing to submit to God…and then there were other things that he wasn’t. And in order to make up for his disobedience to God’s rhema Words to him, Yonnie made an honest effort to keep the Jewish laws and the Jewish customs.
So that was how Yonnie made himself believe that everything was all right between him and God…and even though it wasn’t. In fact it seemed as though the harder I tried to show him the Truth concerning his error, the more he used his Jewish “laws and customs” (legalism) to block my attempts. However, it was only a few months after our first meeting that the Lord gave Yonnie a vision concerning the Jewish “laws and customs”, and He also had Yonnie to ask me for the interpretation.
What a break! Because you see it was in our sermonet Thou Shalt Obey The Law…But Not That Law! (11/7/04) that we gave God’s intended meaning of Yonnie’s vision…which, I might add, painted a very vivid picture of the spiritual death that takes place in all those who trust in “the law” for their salvation. In fact the following is not only the ending of that particular sermonet, but also the bottom line in what God had to say to Yonnie:
**************************************
So you see a “true Jew” is a descendant of Abraham who has put his or her total and complete trust in Jesus. A “true Jew” is “a Jew” who’s willing to put his or her faith in Jesus even if it means going against God’s law of the Old Testament. Jesus is “The Law” that will put an end to “the law” if we will only let Him: “I [Jesus] am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.” (John 15:5 KJV)
**************************************
Now even though the terminology might be a little different, the meaning behind God’s message to Yonnie goes right along with what we’ve been discussing in this sermonet – Christians Who Make God A Liar!” Because you see the Truth of the matter is that Yonnie was trying to look like a “Believer” while living a life of disobedience and unbelief. However, in His never ending attempt to wake Yonnie up to the Truth, the Lord gave Yonnie a frightening dream very shortly after the completion of our expose Tribulation Horror Show! (1/30/05). Talk about perfect timing! In fact it was in this dream that “Yonnie the Jew” was actually taking part in the “second Holocaust” – the Great Tribulation! And of course the reason Yonnie got “left behind” to suffer all those unimaginable “Tribulation horrors” was because Yonnie didn’t have the “witness” of the Son of God in him…and all because he hadn’t been willing to hear God and obey God in all things.
So do you think that just maybe Yonnie’s terrible dream woke him up to the Truth? Do you think that just maybe Yonnie finally confessed his sins and got right with God? Not a chance! In fact that’s why we have had to write this very unpleasant part of the message.
Now even though I could expound on many and varied examples of Yonnie’s disobedience, I will only focus on one. However, this “one” is more than adequate to explain Yonnie’s problem:
You see her name is Veronica. She was God’s chosen mate for Yonnie, and Yonnie knew it. In fact it was a few years back that Yonnie prepared for the “great wedding day” by asking Veronica’s parents for her hand in marriage. Well they approved, and everything was set…that is until “The Beast” walked in on the scene. You see “The Beast” was a mover and a shaker, and before it was all said and done he swept Veronica right off her feet…and Yonnie was left standing without a bride.
By the time God put Yonnie and me together in 2004, Veronica had not only given birth to three children by “The Beast” but had likewise discovered that her mover and shaker “lover” did the same with a lot of other women. Veronica was miserable, and it was during one of the many occasions in which she sought Yonnie’s shoulder to cry on that I was able to briefly meet her. At first glance the Lord spoke to me about her, and later on I obediently relayed His message to Yonnie – “Veronica is called to be your wife!”
Now as uncomfortable as I was in speaking that particular Word, I spoke it because I knew it was from God. But then came my next meeting with Veronica in which the Lord showed me the two opposing “spirits” within her. Because what I saw on Veronica’s neck were “bruise-marks/hickeys” that loudly proclaimed (for all the world to see) what “The Beast” had accomplished just the night before. In God’s Eyes, these were truly the “mark of The Beast” on God’s chosen one – Veronica. However, as bad as that might be, the second spirit that God showed me in Veronica was good. Because what He showed me was the spirit of a minister’s wife who was very capable of “loving”, “sharing with”, and “interceding for” others.
So that’s what the Lord showed me in Veronica – the woman God had designed to be Yonnie’s help-meet in his ministry…and the woman who had lost her way with God after taking “the mark of The Beast”. I mean there were definitely two sides to Veronica, but the question was “Which one was going to win out?”
Well this was right about the place where the rubber should have met the road. I mean here was this beautiful young lady, who was chosen by God for a very special purpose, being held captive by quite a few very dark and demonic spirits. And you see the only way Veronica was going to be released from her deadly captors was through her savior Yonnie. God said (rhema Word – the gospel) that Veronica was Yonnie’s wife, but only Yonnie could make it become reality by being obedient to God’s Word.
And just what was God’s Word to Yonnie, that, if obeyed, would have broken the satanic powers of witchcraft that were holding Veronica in it’s death grip? Would you “believe” that God’s “gospel” to Yonnie was for him to tell the world (as in loudly proclaim) that “God said Veronica is going to be my wife!”
Well for most, that simple little command from God would probably sound like an easy enough thing to do. I mean after all, look at the rewards Yonnie would have received by being obedient to God’s “gospel” Not only would he have rescued Veronica from a very dark situation (saved her soul) but he would have likewise made her his wife.
Now as good a reason as that should have been for Yonnie to obey God’s rhema Word, there was yet another “more important reason” that involves Yonnie’s inner “witness”. Because you see this thing about “hearing God and obeying God” is all about the “Believer” taking up their cross and following Jesus in order to get rid of some of their sinful flesh and become born-again in God’s Spirit. In other words if we claim to know Christ then we must live Christ. However, this supernatural change can only come about when the Believer willingly obeys God’s “gospel” – fully “believing” that it will set them free from the sins of their past (see The Cross! (3/27/05) for more details).
“And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.” (1 John 2:3 -6 KJV)
“Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.” (Matthew 5:48 KJV)
So, the question is “Did Yonnie obey the Father by loudly proclaiming that Veronica was going to be his wife?
Well, the answer to that one is “No!!!” And what follows is the rest of the very sad story of Yonnie making God a liar:

Subject: I Can Now Agree
Yonnie;
I can now agree with you concerning Veronica: She is not to be your wife!
Yesterday, after you spoke of her problems, the Lord quickened me to seek Him in prayer. As I did the Lord gave me the following concerning you and her (Veronica):
"And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it, Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes. For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side, And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation." (Luke 19:41-44 KJV)
You see the "window of opportunity" has now closed in which you could have been a spiritual influence on Veronica's life by first proclaiming to family and friends that God had called her to be your wife, and then by making her your wife. You were called to be her "saviour", but, because you feared the opinion of man more than the directive of God, "God's Will" for you and her will not come to fruition. And of course this is just one more real-life example of "Christians Who Make God A Liar!" (see our upcoming sermonet).
And now that this window has closed, please let me encourage you to stop pursuing Veronica. The Spirit of God will no longer be with you concerning your relationship with her, and any attempt on your part to continue will only bring about heart-ache and destruction:
"Then I said unto you, Dread not, neither be afraid of them." (Deuteronomy 1:29 KJV)
"Yet in this thing ye did not believe the LORD your God," (Deuteronomy 1:32 KJV)
"And the LORD heard the voice of your words, and was wroth, and sware, saying, Surely there shall not one of these men of this evil generation see that good land, which I sware to give unto your fathers," (Deuteronomy 1:34- 35 KJV)
"Then ye answered and said unto me, We have sinned against the LORD, we will go up and fight, according to all that the LORD our God commanded us. And when ye had girded on every man his weapons of war, ye were ready to go up into the hill. And the LORD said unto me, Say unto them, Go not up, neither fight; for I am not among you; lest ye be smitten before your enemies. So I spake unto you; and ye would not hear, but rebelled against the commandment of the LORD, and went presumptuously up into the hill. And the Amorites, which dwelt in that mountain, came out against you, and chased you, as bees do, and destroyed you in Seir, even unto Hormah. And ye returned and wept before the LORD; but the LORD would not hearken to your voice, nor give ear unto you." (Deuteronomy 1:41-45 KJV)
You were called to rescue Veronica, but you didn't answer that call. You were called to be her husband and she your wife, but you weren't willing to do it God's way. You are now justified in saying that the window of opportunity has closed with Veronica...but don't blame it on Veronica. Her problem resides at the feet of Yonnie.
In the Lord Jesus Christ,

Shalom Bruce!
You have always said to listen and obey the L-rd. Since I was in jail I learned He is the only I can trust. As I told you many times, the L- rd reveled to me a long time ago the window of oppertunity has closed with Veronica. It was way back in July of last year. I have prayed and I know what the L-rd said to me and that is what I have to do, not what Bruce says I have to do. I am to help Veronica how I can and I am to help bring her back to the L-rd, but not to marry her. The L-rd has someone else for me someone who will help me build the ministry He has entrusted me with. I will always love her and I believe she will always love me but we are not ever going to be married. Veronica had oppertunity after oppertunity to be with me she always walked away. I can not force her or anyone else to marry me. I will wait for His timing and His will which I know He will reveal to me.

So, that was the very tough Word that the Lord had me to send Yonnie, and of course it was Yonnie’s follow-up reply that rejected the very tough Word that the Lord had me to send him. Yonnie did not “believeth” God’s “gospel” concerning Veronica, and, as a result of it, he did not receive the “witness” of the Holy Spirit in him. In other words, Yonnie did not make it into God’s promised land – set free from the sins of his past. And therefore, as a professing follower of Christ, he has now made God a liar!
Now in order for me to help you understand this inner “witness” thing a little better, I need to share with you just one more of Yonnie’s dreams:
The following dream came to Yonnie in two parts, and likewise carried a double meaning. In part one of his dream, Yonnie found himself to be a guest in the morgue; considered by the undertakers to be stone-cold dead. He awoke from his “sleep”, climbed down from the embalming slab (table), and then proceeded to walk out the door…butt naked!!! As he did this, a female, who just so happened to be walking by, took one look at him, screamed, and then fainted! However, in part two of the dream there was an exact replay…with the exception of Yonnie wrapping a white sheet around his naked body before proceeding out the door.
So what did it all mean? What was the Almighty trying to say to Yonnie?
Well even though Yonnie’s dream deals with many unresolved issues in Yonnie’s life, we’re only going to look at it from an angle that specifically deals with the “gospel according to Veronica”. Because you see one of Yonnie’s “fleshly problems from his past” is that females are magnetically attracted to him…but in a very lustful sort of way. And considering the fact that the Lord has called him to be a Jewish minister – a Rabbi to be exact – who will likewise have to counsel many broken and confused females, it’s this spirit “within” Yonnie that God had intended to get out (overcome) through his marriage to Veronica. However, seeing how the marriage didn’t happen, this lustful spirit within Yonnie is still very much “naked” for the females to “see”…and the very obvious results can only mean disaster to his ministry.
So you see part one of Yonnie’s dream is the way it is, but part two was the way that it could have been…if Yonnie would have only been obedient to God’s Word and received the intended “witness” of the Holy Spirit within. God had a plan that would have delivered Yonnie from his worst enemy – “self”!!! But you see it just didn’t happen because Yonnie was too ashamed of what people might “think and say” if he did what God was telling him to do by proclaiming that “God said Veroniva is going to be my wife!”
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel (G2908) of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith (G4102) to faith (G4102): as it is written, The just shall live by faith (G4102). For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.” (Romans 1:16-25 KJV)
So are you starting to get the picture of how Christians can make God a liar? Well as much as I hate to confess it, it was shortly after Yonnie replied to my e-mail that the Lord gave me the following Scripture as applying to Yonnie:
“For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.” (Philippians 3:18-19 KJV)
Yonnie has rejected the “gospel” that was specifically designed by the Almighty to crucify a part of his sinful flesh. As a professing Believer in Jesus Christ, Yonnie has now become an “enemy of the cross of Christ” by refusing to “believe” God’s Word for him. Not only has Yonnie made God a liar by not making Veronica his wife, but Yonnie has also become a liar by proclaiming that he has a personal relationship with Jesus:
“This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” (1 John 1:5-7 KJV)
So, it should be obvious by now that this has been one more tough sermonet for me to write. This is not a popular message that God has given us to speak, in fact far too many Christians will just flat-out reject it. But that’s not our problem! We can only “do” whatever He tells us to do and “say” whatever He tells us to say with full assurance that this is the “way of our salvation”.
Dad, Yonnie, and Alan
And having said all that, it should be very obvious by now that we as followers of Christ must, without a shadow of doubt, “Keep on keeping The Faith In Jesus!!!”;P>
Love,
Dad (Bruce Hallman)
