Pastor Edward Watson’s
“Lighthouse Baptist Chapel”
Shipwrecks Christians!
“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.” (1 John 4:1 KJV)
******************************
LI'GHT-HOUSE, n. A pharos; a tower or building erected on a rock or point of land, or on an isle in the sea, with a light or number of lamps on the top, intended to direct seamen in navigating ships at night. (Webster’s 1828 Dictionary)
Edward Watson (affectionately known as “Pastor Ed”) ministers in his Lighthouse Baptist Chapel located at 50 Preakness Drive in Durham, NC (Zip - 27713) [note: Pastor Ed is no longer at the aforementioned address]. It was quite a few months ago that the Lord directed me to one of his sermons posted on “SermonAudio.com”. The title of the message was “Rome’s Secret Satanic Military Revealed”. It was a HOT one! Pastor Ed didn’t pull any punches. He spoke God’s Truth in a powerful way. Check it out for yourself:
Rome's Secret Satanic Military Revealed Pt. 1

Rome's Secret Satanic Military Revealed Pt. 2

That particular sermon was my first experience with Pastor Ed, and it was abundantly obvious that Pastor Ed wasn’t just “playing church” by preaching a “socially acceptable gospel”. In fact, as the Lord directed, I went on to hear Pastor Ed uncover corruption in ministers such as Joyce Meyer, Juanita Bynum, Kenneth Copeland, Creflo Dollar, Billy Graham, and Todd Bently just to name a few. Wow! Talk about calling sin a sin and identifying the sinners!
But then, just as it happens all too often, we hit a serious bump in the road in Pastor Ed’s teachings. In one of his sermons he said something that wasn’t true, but yet when I corrected him he somehow admitted that he was wrong while still maintaining that he was right. Go figure! You might say that I’ve learned the hard way how fruitless it is to try and correct Pastor Ed. So, it looks as though I’ll just have to warn the people about Pastor Ed instead. And, of course, that’s what this short expose’ is all about:
“We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.” (1 John 4:6 KJV)
Pastor Ed has the “spirit of error”. That’s a fact! And what makes it so bad is that his error can shipwreck a whole bunch of so-called Christians in the very near future if they truly believe in his error. Because you see the majority of those in the Christian Church of today are not ready to meet their Maker. It’s what the Word of God calls “apostasy”, and the Christian Church is full of it. In fact if Jesus were to come for His Bride (The Church) right now, all those “apostate” Christians would get “left behind” to experience The Tribulation… and that’s definitely not where anyone in their right mind should want to be:
“For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.” (Matthew 24:21-22 KJV)
So, just what is Pastor Ed’s error? Well, the following excerpt from his message “Tribulation Yes, Wrath No” should detail it very nicely:
- Tribulation Yes, Wrath No -
(Download MP3)
“We must purpose to not be offended in Christ if things don’t turn out the way we hoped and the way we have been told they will. Right? When Christians find themselves on earth, when the New World Order is in full swing and God’s people are being sought after for elimination, we need to understand that we are suffering the wrath of Antichrist, not the wrath of God – which God is going to allow for a time. God will not leave us or forsake us even during the Tribulation, if we keep His Word and obey Him unreservedly and endure to the end. He has no difficulty protecting His people from nuclear explosions, biological warfare, etceteras, but that is something else. We need to understand and keep the difference between tribulation and wrath in our hearts and minds so we will no be offended with the Lord Jesus Christ and be spiritually set to look upon for another Christ, which those who will be offended and start betraying each other will do.” (Pastor Edward Watson - Tribulation Yes, Wrath No)
Now just in case you haven’t heard of it before, Pastor Ed was referring to what’s commonly called “The Rapture” or “The Catching Away” of Believers, and the following are two key Scriptures from God’s Word that describe it:
“Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.” (1 Corinthians 15:51-52 KJV)
“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words. But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.” (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 and 5:1-10 KJV)
You see in the not-too-distant future the Lord is going to take His faithful followers (true Believers – The Church) off the face of this earth so that Satan can rule without their saintly interference. However, the picture is somewhat different for all those “professing” Christians who’ve not been faithful “in all things” – they get “left behind”!
In fact it was back in 2001 that the Lord gave me the proof, through Revelation 3:10, that His True Church will be out of here before The Tribulation ever begins:
“Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.” (Revelation 3:10 KJV)
Now just in case you’d like a deeper understanding of God’s proof Scripture for His “Pre-Tribulation Rapture” (“we’re out of here”), please check out our expose’ “ Tribulation Horror Show!” I mean it’s much better to see it now than to experience it later. In fact the reason that the Lord gave me His proof Scripture, and the understanding thereof, was so that I could be a witness to Pastor Stephens, who, like Pastor Ed, believed that Believers would have to go through some part of God’s wrath – “The Tribulation!” – on the unbelieving world. Because you see Pastor Stephens had not obeyed God in all things, and the Lord had showed him the horror of The Tribulation that he should expect to experience. However, what Pastor Stephens didn’t understand was that The Tribulation was not going to be for “The Church” in general, but only for those who have “played church” by not obeying God in all things.
And having said that, we can get back to Pastor Ed and his error. Because you see Pastor Ed has the same problem as Pastor Stephens – God has shown him that he’s going through The Tribulation. However, what makes Pastor Ed’s error so damnable is that he’s preaching/teaching that Christians shouldn’t worry if they wake up in The Tribulation because God’s not really angry with them.
What a bust!
You see unlike Hell, the Tribulation allows all those who have professed Christ, but yet not obeyed him in all things, to repent of their foolish behavior (unbelief). The Tribulation is like “one more chance to get it right”, whereas with Hell there’s “no more chance to get it right”. So, by Pastor Ed telling folks that “The Tribulation” is God’s plan for “His Church”, he’s depriving all those who believe in his error of that one last chance to escape the everlasting burning flames of Hell.
Pastor Ed is a heretic!
Pastor Ed’s “Lighthouse Baptist Chapel” shipwrecks Christians…please don’t be one of them!
Note: The following email was received on 1/8/11 in regards to our expose' on Pastor Ed:

please post this on your Ed Watson page to help warn others
Dear Sir,
I read you warning about Ed watson of lighthouse baptist.
Well, my husband and I used to attend that "church" "pastor Ed" supposedly pastors which is not a church anyway because Ed has run everyone off with his hate filled actions. It's only Ed and his wife and kids and he still calls himself a pastor of a church which is a deception. But it sounds good on the internet to those who don't know better.
I have known Ed Watson for a long time now. Ed has some big problems, that's for sure. Ed makes himself happy by attacking others and in most cases he is off base. Attacking other is what Ed does. This man is in serious need of some prayer. Ed will search and try to find anything about his victim he can and use it against them. I have found that in a lot of cases, the things Ed uses to attack individual people are totally made up. I have never seen someone do this like Ed does this. People need to be warned about Ed Watson who is hurting people with lies. He is not a man of the truth and is constantly spreading rumors about other people as if they are the true. As you found, so have we, that Ed is not open to talk. Once he says or does something he is not teachable and is full of pride and will not listen, even though my husband and I and others have found many times he is wrong.
Ed is not a pastor as he claims. Edward Watson is a slanderous railer who gets to know people long enough to use that "relationship" against that person who becomes his next victim. I read all he said about one particular lady and it was not even close to the truth but Edward would not listen and "exposed" her with information that was not even true whatsoever.
It doesn't appear that Ed is out to help anyone, he just wants to attack others who are doing something for God. That is not ministry.

Note: The following testimony was received on 1/16/12 in regards to our expose' on Pastor Ed:
****************************************
Testimony of a Victim of "Pastor" Ed Watson:
First off, I want to say that I live in a neighboring state to Ed Watson who now lives in NC. My wife and I were given messages for Ed who refused to listen and shut us off immediately.
Ed has still decided not to repent after my wife and I and many others have contacted him with true concern for the state of his soul and for how he has ruthlessly attacked members of the body of Christ including Dr. Scott Johnson, Pastor Sam Adams and his family, and many others. We believe this man has hardened his heart against God and is reprobate.
Ed Watson is seen on youtube calling for other pastors to become “black regiment preachers”. What exactly does that mean? Sounds eerie to me. One guy comes forward to answer the altar call. It seems like Ed Watson is calling people to join a cult, the cult of the black regiment.
Ed Watson comes off as a man of righteousness but his personal life and personal relationships say otherwise. Ed Watson has alienated everyone so far. All his past friends are no longer friends but rather enemies because he has attacked them and said nasty things about them that are not true.
Ed Watson also has a video out and has sent out emails to recruit people into his multi level marketing scheme. One brother who lives near us here on the east coast received an email from Ed on this scheme. It sounds very hyped up and driven by greed.
From our study of this man, Ed Watson, we see first hand and from those who are testifying against him, that he is a one man attack machine who sets his aim on certain individuals whom he views as a threat to his own popularity. The he goes on the attack. He starts a campaign against that person. Don’t be deceived by this man. Ed Watson is completely divisive, subversive, and a flagrant, malicious, and slanderous attack agent, set forth by his father Satan to attack God’s servants.
One of his past victims is Pastor Sam Adams who we have listened to and like. Of Ed Watson, Pastor Adams says;
“My main purpose in this letter is to sound a warning to any that may trust Ed Watson as a respectable preacher of the gospel, that I personally know Ed Watson to be an absolute fraud, a doctrinal heretic, a slandering talebearer and a treacherous backstabber who maliciously and consistently betrays those whom he pretends to befriend, who also maliciously betrays those who confide in him for his so-called "counsel" as he extracts intimate details of their personal lives under the cloak of "pastoring" them, only to later publicize such information against them when they do not perform according to his controlling desires or when it appears he will be exposed. Ed Watson is a rabid, ravening wolf in sheep's clothing, one whom I would strongly encourage you to publicly withdraw from for the sake of your ministry.
Ed Watson is a doctrinal heretic, a pathological liar without conscience, a malicious talebearer, a sower of intentional discord among brethren, a devilish "accuser of the brethren," an adulterous borderline sexual predator, a ravening wolf in sheep's clothing and a true menace to the body of Christ in general. He ruthlessly attacked me, my family, and our church, as he has several others. Ed truly fits Peter's description in 2 Pet. 2:1-22 of false brethren and false teachers to a tee: Ed is a malicious, rabid monster who apparently turns on every person he pretends to befriend. He will have much to answer for at the judgment seat of Christ, if he is saved, which I truly doubt.” - Pastor Sam Adams
