Mother Teresa

Now I’m sure this dear sweet lady needs no formal introduction.

I mean Mother Teresa was known by the world to be nothing less than an "angel of mercy" who spent every day of her adult life cleaning and feeding so many of the unwanted and unloved lost and dying.

OK, so what, might you ask, is this Jesus Christ professing Catholic lady doing here?

Well there's no doubting the fact that she was very religious, and did many extraordinary good things during her lifetime, but that's not what's going to get any of us into Heaven!

And it's right about here where this thing about "religions" comes into play.

You see Mother Teresa truly believed in what her Catholic religion taught her, and it's likewise through what she said that we can sorta like understand what she believed:

"If in coming face to face with God we accept Him in our lives, then we... become a better Hindu, a better Muslim, a better Catholic, a better whatever we are... What God is in your mind you must accept."

So do you think that maybe what Mother Teresa was "believing in" just might somehow fit in with God's definition of "unbelieving"?

Does the Hindu religion, or the Muslim religion, or the Catholic religion, worship the One True God?

Do you really think Mother Teresa made it into Heaven?

Well... seeing how you're having such a hard time answering my question, here are just a few more of her very own convincing words:

"People say they are drawn close to God -- seeing my strong faith. Is this not deceiving people? Every time I have wanted to tell the truth -- that I have no faith the words just do not come -- my mouth remains closed. And yet I still keep on smiling at God and all."

"I am told God lives in me -- and yet the reality of darkness and coldness and emptiness is so great that nothing touches my soul."

"I want God with all power of my soul -- and yet between us there is terrible separation. I don't pray any longer."

"In my soul, I can't tell you how dark it is, how painful, how terrible -- I feel like refusing God."

"Pray for me, Father. Inside of me there is so much of suffering -- Pray for me that I may not refuse God in this hour -- I don't want to do it but I am afraid I may do it. Pray for me."

"Where I try to raise my thoughts to heaven, there is such convicting emptiness that those very thoughts return like sharp knives and hurt my very soul. Love -- the word -- it brings nothing."

So now what do you think? Do you really believe Mother Teresa made it into Heaven? Poor Mother Teresa!
